2000 Avenger 2.5L 6cyl, will not start

Friend has '00 Avenger that was worked on by someone. Apparently the ETC sesor plug (both pins) were touched to +12v batt voltage at some time while troubleshooting a cooling fan problem. (whole notha issue but fixable) Since that time the engine will crank but not fire. (it started fine prior to this) I've checked all of the engine fuses and all are fine. I hope it's not the computer (PCM) that was shot. Reading the pins going to the Temp control (ETC) one has +5vdc and the other 0 currently. Any thoughts on where to start this journey?

Re: 2000 Avenger 2.5L 6cyl, will not start

Ok, new info. On the ECT sensor plug, we have 5.9 vdc on one pin and 5.14vdc on the other with ignition "On". On the Distributor plug pin 1 (red/grn) 0 vdc during crank "start". Pin 2 black wire=0 vdc during start. Pin 4 Brn wire= 5vdc @ "on" and "start" Pin 5 Yel wire= 9vdc at "on" and "start" Pin 6 blue wire= 5.5vdc @ "on" and "start". Haven't checked the injector voltage yet.
