Re: 98 safari auto trans. no 1st and overdrive

Welcome Aboard!

Since no one else is willing to take a stab at it, I'll go...

Do the gear ranges work if manually selected?

Does reverse work normally?

Does the transmission engage quickly and smoothly when a range is selected, or is there hesitation or slow engagement?

Re: 98 safari auto trans. no 1st and overdrive

Thanks BB,
I have'nt got the van yet but I do think the 2 to 3 shift is good. I don't know if the manual 1st is working. I did buy a solenoid and filter kit as I am going to get it today. Thanks for the reply and I will let you know if that is the problem.
