Wheels Seem to be Grabbing

I have a 1998 Winstar and just recently the passenger side wheel seems to start grabbing for a while and then back to normal.

What do you mean by "grabbing"?

Are there other symptoms you can share?

Re: Wheels Seem to be Grabbing

Does it feel, for instance, as if the brake were being applied only on one side?

Yes, we had new brakes installed on all four wheels not to long ago. Is this
being caused by the ABS system?

This could be caused by a sticking caliper.. Would not think ABS would cause this unless you are braking at the time. If its grabbing after you release the brakes then it must be the caliper..

Re: Wheels Seem to be Grabbing

Hello

I had the friction material come off of one of my rear brake shoes (about 2 years old) and cause the wheel to lock up. The friction material was floating around in the drum loose and would get jamed at times. I also had just adjusted my rear brakes up which is something that shouldn't need to be done if the parking brake is used. However, I when the friction material came off the brake pedal had to be pushed farther down like before the brakes had to be adjusted. I would recomend to bring it back to where you got the brake work done if you don't feel confortable in removing the rear drums and inspecting.

Regards

Dan
