1991 Lumina Speedometer and Low Coolant Light

I just purchased a 1991 Lumina from an older couple as my first car. Just needed something to get back and forth to work and obtain more experience driving.

1. speedometer is not working
2. yesterday the low coolant light is on but there is coolant in the radiator and the reservoiur. I dont see any leaks in my driveway. I have moved the car to different spots and even placed a paper towel under the car at night.
don't see any evidence that it is leaking.

What could the problme[s] be? I am 19 and it seems that I will be working to get this car fixed. I didn't want to make my parents buy me a car.

There is a replaceable sensor for the speedometer on the tranny - dont worry about the low coolant lite there is an error some where - I have the same two problems - I,m going to change the speed sensor as soon as I have the money
