2000 Overheating when a/c off

With the a/c off the fans don't see to run and temperature increases above half-way, not into red (yet). With the a/c on the both cooling fans start up and the temperature gauge stays about right. I was fiddling today and noticed the connector that leads to both fans has one pin burnt. Both fans still work (with a/c) so I think the connection is 'good'. I looked at all the relays (click with 9 v) and fuses and they seem fine.

Your van may NOT be overheating at all. It may just be getting warmer than you are used to seeing it on the gauge.

I have some more information in this page if you want to check it out.

Take Care,

Take Care,
Thanks for the reply and the link. I may have seen it before because I remember that the a/c was supposed to have an influence on when the fans turn on. It did start when in stopped traffic on a warm day. The gauge went at least to half way (12 o'clock), maybe a little higher (2-3 o'clock). Lower than red but still higher than the 'normal' (10 o'clock).

Thanks, I'll try not to fiddle too much
