Need to identify the part - pic attached

Hello,

Through out my visual inspection, I have found out that this part has a gasket that deteriorated bad. That part I put in blue color on the pic, the gasket is below it. I can't find in the manual any info. This part sits on the water pump.

1) What is it?
2) Do I need to change it or only the gasket?
3) If only the gasket then what should I ask for in the parts store?
4) How do you open the freaking clip that hold the hose on? I used pliers with a bad success. These freaking clips are all over, there must be an easy way to de-press them and remove...

If gaskets leaks, change the gasket. Functionally, this is a "flow distributor" (not the official name...) that feeds part of flow to radiator, part direct bypass through engine depending on thermostat opening at the other end of engine.
I use to cut gaskets from Corn Flakes box...
Straight end pliers usually do well for these clips....open wide and pull both ends together and it will move freely over the hose.

While was attaching a water pump and a heater core (replacement) I had cut out a custom gasket from a gasket kit and used a special sealant in case it is not as good as OEM. First time done either, seems working...

I changed that gasket a couple of months ago! Dealer was able to find it but I can't remember if it had a name. Important to consider (maybe) is that it has brass washers for the bolts. Might make a difference over time if you skip the washers!?

Don't remember washers. Still doesn't leak on a custom gasket.

Not sure what it's called either, but if you go to a dealer, they can tell you. They have detailed blow-up drawings on computer with a name for every part called out on screen.
