1993 E-150 fuel problems

I just bought a 1993 van from an accaintence of mine. He told me the only known problem was that it "vapor locks" . He said to change the fuel filter and it would go fine. Well it did real good for about 2 months then it started in. I did what he said but still it sometimes would not start and run. So I went Looking, Fuses, Relay, Fuel Pressure. All checked out fine until it went to a no start problem. So I checked fuel pressure , it read 0. So I then checked regulator again , fuel was at reg but not enough to open it. So this weekend I am going to change the fuel pump and hope this corrects the problem. If anyone has any other ideas before I do this let me know. Otherwise I will let you know how it turns out. Also, when I bought the van at138000 it had a noisey fuel pump. Hope this fixes the problem
