Question whats wrong wit my max?

my rear left wheel is makin some weird noise, if u have ever driven on thoes bumps when ya go off the road it makes a rumbling noise. i think it is my brake pads becuz i can smell them burning when i go somewhere and get out of the car. any1 kno y it doin this?

I think your brake pads on that rotor is worn and that rumbling you hear may coming from the metal on the brake pads rubbing up against the rotor. If this is the case, you might have to replace the rotor and get new pads. This will cost about $60+.

no, i jus had front pads put on 3 weeks ago, and back pads on like 3 months ago

???????????????????Brakes or wat?

Well dunno if its the same in my car..My does a banging noise when i accerlerate from a stop sometimes..and when i get off somewhere it smells like brakes on my drivers side where i hear the noise..Dont know if its the same problem but it sounds bad when i accelerate...If u think its the same thing that your having letme know please anyone thanks..

i got mine to stop, i went to a carwash and used the pressure hose to spray off my rotors and brakes and all of that and it stoped. mine still sqweak a lil but i kno its from where the brake dust is still collecting on the wheel and it has been a week or so since ive had the time to go and clean them off

by the way just for some general knowledge, when its wet or humid out... most maximas make a grinding noise when you step on the brakes. its normal. it has something to do with the type of brake pads they use.

You could also possibly have a bad bearing in that wheel. Does it get worse with speed?

had bearings checked when i had to get brakes put on

Someone said in the Maxima.org forums that the Emergency Brake cable has some issues and is prone to rusting. Its possible this could be your problem too.
