Exclamation Important! - Scale Modelworld 2002, IPMS UK Nationals

Hi all,

Just to let you know.

From the Scale Modelworld website:
"Scale Modelworld 2002 will take place on the weekend of November 9th / 10th at the Telford International Centre, Telford, Shropshire, United Kingdom. The model competition is open to IPMS members only. There are over 70 classes, catering for all types of plastic modelling."

Scale Modelworld 2002

I will be going over. Not to take part in the competition, but to look at models, buy some stuff etc. From former events I can tell that car modeling in general is not well represented, only some specialised shops will have a boothspace (MRM etc.), but in the swapmeet you can find some older stuff which is went into obsoletion at some point. I never came back from the UK Nationals empty handed so there's always some cool stuff to pick up, even if the emphasis is on aircraft

So, are there any other AF-modelers making the trip to Telford? If so, maybe we can organize a "get together"?

Cheers,
Guido

I shall most definately going and really looking 4ward 2 it!

I was hoping to have a trade stand but eventually decided not to coz i'd rather wait til next year when i should have a more substantial product range.

Telford is only a 20min drive away from me The show is really good mainly for the trade stands, as u say the car modellers are not very well represented. I shall most probably attend on the 9th as early as poss to get all the good stuff!

Tamiya usually have a stand there and i wonder if there will be any more info on the Enzo as its nearer to the release date?

We'll see! Can't wait!

But you're going to enter your 180sx and S2000 w/ a card saying where the parts came from, right?

We're driving - by Chunnel - over on friday with a bunch of (12) plastic modeling nutters. Only 3 are into cars, and only me building regularly. The rest of them are aircraft boys So I'll be there both on Saturday and Sunday. Also Saturday early to get the good stuff too. Leave all the Merc's for me, will you?

Who else will be going?

I'll be popping in on Satuday, to have a look around, this will be the first
time I've attended one of these shows.

If anyone spots this motor in the car park, it's mine

BTW it's lost the Ralliart Sticker now and is dirty (B*$"dy UK weather)

Steve
