I've learned my lesson

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted here...many things have hapenned to me and I want to speak about one in specific. About three weeks ago I realised I needed a new headunit so I went to my preferred supplier's spot. As I was there I saw a real nice headunit from performance teknique, I mean It was awesome, it not only played mp3, but also mp4, j-peg, dvd, vcd and had a built in t.v tuner so then I asked my supplier how much, and considering I'm one of his old customers he gave me the price of $125...I fell in love with it at that moment but then I tought I might do some research before I bought it. So then I searched and read different posts of people...I read one in which some of guys from these forums stated that there was really no difference in a high end hu and a cheap no-namer, also I had heard the amps of the same brand in a friends car and they weren't bad, so I went and bought the stereo as well as ordered some 5.6 sunvisor monitors from the same brand.Next day I installed it in my car all happy and exited but little did I know . As I turned it on I realised that as much I adjusted the sound settings and try to make it sound good the sound quality and loudness had gone way lower than b4, I mean way down to the point where even a couple of my friends laughed at me because of the piece of s%*t I had just bought, yes I felt like crap (not to mention I broke the frame that goes around the hu and a/c controls while installing it). So then I took it back to the spot, I explained to the guy what had hapenned and at first he kinda refused to change it, but then he understood and he gave me credit and I picked a new amp he said that he would sell the monitors I had ordered to someone else, nice guy man. Guys pay attention to this, as good as a deal sounds always investigate real good about what you're getting and I've learned my self that THERE IS! a difference between a high end hu and a piece of crap hu.....

ones with that much stuff generally have a LOT of adjustments, you have to be careful that you have them set right. I typically don't buy cheaper stuff because it's usually not very reliable.

Yeah, I expected it to have a lot of settings too...but all it had was the basic stuff like bass,treble,bal,fader...unlike my old deck that has the frequency and level adjust for low, mid, high, the cutoff frequency thingy and all that stuff......well good thing he exchanged it for me

the other thing is, different decks have different outputs ..... you have to reset the gains when you but a new deck in.
