88 corsica stalls only when first started up

Hey-

I've had this car for about 3 weeks.

The past 3-4 days, when I get up in the morning to leave, I'll start the car up, which is just fine - then I either reverse or drive, depending how i am parked and the car stalls. Then I put it in park, turn it off, and start it back up again - and I can drive/reverse just fine.

I think it may just happen when the car sits for a long period of time, but I am not sure. Sometimes, I go out in the afternoon after it sits for a few hours, and it doesn't have the problem..

ideas??

hard to say here, but you might have a dirty IAC valve that is affecting your idle speed maybe. Might check for old cracked vacuum lines, clean your IAC, tune it up if not done for a long time, and see what happens. If you notice your check engine light coming on ever, get the codes pulled in case you have a failing sensor etc.
