Review- Martini Colors by Zero

Just received them from Steve: I'm so excited that I wanna share: I searched from ages and finally lately a friend said me codes used by a Body Shop that painted a good 50% of all motorsport lancias. I have to try by airbrush (I'm used with the superb texture and coverage of Zero's base) but they seem to match well Martini's colors. Dunno know if there are other people that would paint martini strips (at least I have cos I plan to do stuff scratchbuilted, no decals): BTW I guess Hiroboy would build a combo with his white, useful to paint several cars.

Once a time thanks a lot Steve for the superb quality color mixing and for the quick and great customer service.

Soon with the first attempt zzluurrrp.

Steve's custom paint mixes come in 60ml bottles. Easy way to tell is his 30ml bottles have a black cap seen here and his 60,100,250 ml bottles have a clear cap.

Excellent colours.I'm sure I'll be using these in the future as I have a few Martini liveried cars I want to build.

Re: Review- Martini Colors by Zero

The thought of masking and painting those stripes gives me the shivers!

Great packaging Steve! I really like/appreciate the design touches - it really adds to the whole purchase experience
(that's not a reason to hike your prices though!! )

Re: Review- Martini Colors by Zero

Guys I have a question. With your experience how many cars can be done with one bottle(60ml)? Never used pre-thinned paintings so I need your advices. Thanks!

Re: Review- Martini Colors by Zero

To be honest I purchased several but I completely finished only 1 body shell with zzero colors: the murcielago (arancio atlas) and I used half bottle, so the answer may be two, 3 if you're cheap with colors.

Then call me cheap I allready painted two and I have paint for maybe even two more.
Funniest thing is that I used a lot more for 599 then for 575, it looked like I couldn't cover 599 as good as 575 so I had to apply two or three coats more, on same primer, only difference is resin/plastic which should not make the difference or is it me .

I think it mainly depends on what type of color you are using. Mainly the coverage capabilities. The color I used for the PGT is Porsche Cobalt Blue on Mr Surfacer 1200 grey.

Re: Review- Martini Colors by Zero

Thanks guys. I know that depends, different colors, different people and different cars cause different ml, I just need a main idea to decide how many should I buy once, the quantity should probably match the number of my projects. To me 1 mist coat followed by 2~3 wet coats will cover the whole body very well (red on white primer surface), so I guess the conclusion will be approx 3 cars per bottle. Thanks again!

Tang, I have found that by painting only the left hand side of my models, I can in fact get 6 cars out of one bottle.
