Do foreign countries actively watch our baseball, world series, etc.

I was wondering if US sports are activly watched by any foreign countries?

mainstream NZ television will mention briefly the results of major games, they're reporting on the Angels/Giants game as I type.

Sky Sport covers some of the major matches, but it's not Rugby, or Americas Cup,so it doesn't get a huge audience and plays in the least popular spots.

We get it on Sky sports- - kinda like a cable service you only get in pubs/bars/clubs/whatever you call them. I watch baseball occasionally while dirnking and simultaneously losing pool. Please tell me all the US guys on here see the irony of haveing a 2 country (one majorly dominant) world series.

Hmmmm...

In NZ we have a digital satellite TV (ie we bypassed the whole cable thing except in Wellington)... so we get most

NBA Yes on digital satellite service (also NCAA)
Baseball Yes on digital satellite service
ESPN Yes on digital satellite service
NFL Yes on digital satellite service (also some college football)
CART Yes on digital and free to air (but only because a kiwi drives in it)
IRL No
MLS Yes usually in ESPN
USPGA Yes on digital - some highlights on Free to Air
NHRA Yes on ESPN
AMA Yes including Superbikes and Stadium Motocross
WWF Sadly yes
NASCAR Yes on ESPN
NHL Yes on digital satellite

PS Free to Air usually shows delayed coverage of Rugby Union, Rugby League, Cricket (live is on Satellite subscription only). Netball (kind of like Basketball but with no stepping with the ball and no dribbling and no back board) played by women only.

America's Cup sailing being shown live as well as V8 Supercar - kind of like Down Under version of Nascar... and we see WRC highlights every night the rallies are on...

The name world series has been on the game since the championship was first played nearly a hundred years ago. While it may not be true in the planetary sency, its not likely to change its name.

Shit. I don't even watch the world series. Baseball players (and actually, most professional sports athletes) are a bunch of whiny bitches and don't deserve squat. There's no love for the game anymore. It's all about a fat contract... I used to love baseball, but it's just a big corporate capatalist joke now. I didn't even know the world series was on until I read this thread. hehehe.
