transmission help
i removed the trans from my 97 windstar 3.8 to replace the front seal. in doing so i damaged the electrical connections on the top of the trans. one is a little l\black box that i think is the shifter control or something, this one is no problem it came off easy. the other one which is right beside it is the problem. i don't know what it is called to get a new one and i can't get it out to show the parts guy what i'm talking about. it lookis like it might screw in or be held in with a clip or something. it will rotate but won't come out. can anyone help?

Re: transmission help
I am not sure of exactly what you are talking about.
I have a picture that shows some items that are under the air filter/MAF/hose assembly.....with them removed. I labeled a couple of items there. If it is not one of them......but is by some lucky break in the picture....you might print it out and show them?

Re: transmission help
update:
it is the connection next to the range sensor, ontop of the transmission. the part is $45. the problem now is that the van is all put back together and to change this connestion the side pan and "something"-body inside the pan (i forgot what the guy called it) has to come off to get to a clip that is holding the connection in place. anyone know if this is possible with the trans inplace or will i have to lower it again to do this. GOD i hope not. note to self: never try to work on a transmission again |
