2002 ZX2 Code Reading question

Where is the port located on a 2002 Ford ZX2 that you plug a diagnostic engine code reader into ? I have looked and looked and cannot seem to find it..... HELP !!!!!

It's tucked under the dash, just to the left of the steering wheel pointing down.

Notice that any thing 1996 and newer always has the obd plug tucked under the dash, close to the steering wheel? I wonder why that is lol.

Probably part of the OBD standard. However my Metro had a groundout fuse in the fuse box with no connecter and my Celica used the factory diagnostic connector under the hood. I'm not for sure if they were OBD-I though. Interesting point though.
