corsica stalling

My 1994 6 cylinder Corsica runs fine when cold but after driving for more than say 30 minutes, it acts like it's stalling. Never totally dies but has no power if you keep the pedal down. Just put new fuel pump and filter on. Wires and plugs about a year old. The check engine light comes on after about 20 minutes driving.

Too hard to guess, need to start by getting the codes that the computer has stored when the check engine light sets. It is kept in there until you look at them and clear them out. that is the place to start, will give you clues as to what is wrong. You can buy a cheap tester (OBDI) type for 25-30 bucks or there is a way to get the codes by shorting out the proper connectors on your computer connector. If they have the old style tester an Advance auto store or Autozone might be able to check for free. Your car has what is known as an OBDI computer system, cars 96 on usually have OBDII, takes different tester.

i have a 90 corsica and i had the same problem, after warming up when i would push the pedal the car would just bog out and i had to pump the pedal a few times to get it to go, turns out the coolant was low, i suggest filling the radiator and then turning the car on and the radiator will circulate the coolant and you will be able to fill more fluid. once full replace the cap and that should fix the problem.

I had my 93 corsica stalling at stop lights after driving for a while and while driving the engine would chug and almost die. had a friend say to replace the throttle position sensor and that fixed it right away.
