New Computer Questions

I just wanted to get some advice/insight from ppl that know about computers (though this ain't a computer forum.) I want to get a new computer which would be used for mainly graphic design, web design. Other uses will be internet, listening to music and watching videos. What's the best place online to get a custom pc, in your opinions? Any other advice for this particular subject is also appreciated.

p.s. I would also like to know what's the best Wacom tablet to get for whoever's used or own one?

I have several friends and acquaintances that bought computers from dell.com and were able to build them how they wanted them. They even have an area on their website that has refurbished, returned, and other non-delivered computers for one reason or another at very good discounted prices. You have to be quick however as they are usually unique and you may not be the only one looking at it. It's first come first served.

Is building one easy?
Even so what sorta stuff could I get, ie. motherboard, graphics card, processor, etc. that would be best for me? Price total has to be somewhere between 1500-2000 dollars.

So most new pc's can handle photoshop, illustrator and cinema4D being open at the same time?

This is where I've gotten all of my stuff and I've built three computers so far. Had a little trouble with my latest AMD but with the amount of technology in it it was worth it. So far anyways

As far as what you should go with Oz seems to know his shiz around here so ask him, he'll prolly pop in at some time though. He was a great help in getting mine up and running.

By far the best route to go is to custom build your own computer. Dell and all these other manufacturers can only customize so much as they have the same base parts to use in every system. For what you are wanting to do you will probably want to go the intel dual core route with high end video card either by ati or nvidia and leaving room for future upgrades. If you want shoot me a pm and we can go more in depth to the design and needs of a system. If you want a system that everyone has and don't want individuality then go the Dell route but I used to work for them so you would end up regretting it when something broke and had to hassle with their tech support.
