Still no Blower...

Hi, i've gone through some of the posts here to fix the blower in my '01 GLS coupe, and still can't get it to work on any settings. i pulled out the resistor pack and it checked good, cleaned the terminals for luck and replaced. then pulled out the motor, checked 12V on the plug and got a new one. i then rechecked the fuses, a few in the engine and the passenger side box. any suggestions would be appreciated!

thanks,
ryn

Welcome to AF.

On the fuses did you do a visual only or actually measure for 12 volts at the respective fuse socket?

Re: Still no Blower...

Fixed it! Turned out I needed a resistor pack and a HVAC blower relay. So if your alero's blower doesn;'t work and you still read 12V off of the fan plug, then change both. My guess is something in either one was shorting when a load was applied. The first auto store i was at thought i was crazy and wanted me to buy another motor. he insisted it wasn't a relay... so don't take any lip!

hope this helps,
-ryn
