Changing stock deck to aftermarket?
Just wondering if I am going to have to buy some 150 dollar module to allow me to change out my deck, I know my friends 2000 sunfire had to have the module, any of you guys know for sure? Also anyone know what it is actually called so I can see if maybe ebay has them for cheaper.
Thanks Tim |

Re: Changing stock deck to aftermarket?
most likely yes. it will depend on what brand deck you get. the wiring harness plug will be different. there is an adapter you can buy for most aftermarket decks to plug into the factory plug again depending on the brand deck you get. the adapter is nice so you dont have to mess with cutting all the wires to get rid of the plug for the new one. or something like this..http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WIRIN...ayphotohosting
you can then just match up your wires to the new harness that will come with your new deck. |
