N00B Question about Turbos

Base 94' 3000GT DOHC

Was wondering how much work would have to be done to put turbos into this, or would i totally have to get a different motor from a VR-4 to have turbos. I have found a person selling the turbos from his VR-4 and i was wondering if they could possibly be put into my base 3000GT?

I know it may be a stupid question but i was just wondering if that would be an option instead of having to buy a VR-4.

Here is some info on it:

Specs:
-Model: MHI TE04H-13C
-OE Part #: 49183-2010, 49183-2210, 49183-1000
-Wastegate setting: ~7 psi
-Compressor Trim: 50
-Exhaust turbine dia.: 51mm
-Oil and Water Cooled
Description:
Apair of used MHI (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) TE04H-13C turbocharger. The turbos are excellent for the Mitsubishi 3000GTnon-turbo motor. These turbos are internally wastegated and are set at about 7 psi of boost. The TE04H turbo is only available oil and water cooled.

*Note:2 turbos.

Re: N00B Question about Turbos

Honestly, it's much Much smarter to just buy a Vr4.

Re: N00B Question about Turbos

yes, those turbos can be used on our cars, but there are SO many more parts that you need, in addition to just the turbos.

yes, many people have done the FWD TT conversion, but you will ALWAYS have traction problems. so if you don't care much about launching your car and if you want it to be a beast on the highway, then FWD TT is the way to go. our 10:1 NA motors take very nicely to boost. a pair of stock VR4 turbos (9Bs) would be fully spooled at just 3,000rpm on a 10:1 motor.

as for cost, if you're frugal, crafty, and good with a wrench, then you can get it all done for just over $1,000 + $500 for supporting mods like boost controller, TT ECU, etc.

if you have any more questions about the FWD TT conversion, check out the FAQ or feel free to ask here.
