I evolved....
Yes, I sold the DSM
. It was sad to see it go, but guess what I got in it's place? An 06 Evo IX GSR! Man, this thing is just amazing. I got it used, and the previous owner did a couple things to it already, so it dyno'd at 335 to the wheels. I'm not staying out of the DSM game though. One day, I hope to get a 1g awd and build a track only car. Plus, my best friend just got a 90 gsx, so that is gonna be our project, along with the evo. Theres the cheaper of the three: The RS, pretty much stripped down for race. Then there is the mid priced one: The GSR (called GSR in japan not sure if its really called GSR in US, I know the USDM Evo VIII GSR were just called the Evo VIII) Then the more expensive one: the MR

I can't even get my damn Talon running, much less drop money for an EVO... I need to start sellin' drugs ![]() I mean, if I was.... I'd be makin' a lot more money than I am now...

Congrats man....I thought has crossed my mind lately on getting an EVO. We will see how it goes. Have fun with that thing. That MIVEC head makes a pretty big differance.

Yes, Mitsu USA doesn't give the midrange model any other designation, but for clarity, we all call them GSRs like the overseas markets do.
18k is a fantastic price for that car even after trade in and downpayment, the payment would be quite manageable. I bought mine new, which is dumb, but I had never had a "new" car my whole life and decided it was time. Congrats on the purchase, welcome to the EVO club.

Heh thanks guys. I really will miss the DSM, it was my first turbo car and it taught me alot. But, I decided it was time for some change since if you count my RS I had before the GSX, I had an eclipse for 6 years. I'm still gonna stick around though, and share my evo stories with everyone lol.
![]() EDIT: Ya, there are a couple models of the evo. You have the RS, IX (GSR), the MR, and SE. RS is the stripped down one, HIDs, no power locks/windows/radio and aluminum roof (I think) and no spoiler. IX(GSR) is the "base model". MR is the 6 speed with upgraded suspension, HIDs, and other stuff. SE is the "special edition" with different rims, red stitched seats, and a cool lip. THEN, on top of that, you could have the extra package called the SSL (sun, sound, leather) option put on the GSR which gives HIDs, full leather seats and an upgraded stereo. It gets confusing lol.

DSM is mitsubishi, so you are still in the dsm game. Dsm isnt just eclipses man

2Gs aren't even DSMs technically (though many 95s are badged as such), much less EVOs. But since the modding process is nearly identical, and so many parts are shared (look at my EVO running a 2g ECU and 1g BOV, etc) it's all the same thing in the end as far as I'm concerned.
