security light question

Ok, I just changed the head gasket on this car and now the carr won't start
it is a 96 or a 97 (it is not my car not sure) sunfire 2.2 ohv engine. I had no major issues when i did the job but now i am trying to start the car and it won't start. I try to turn the key and the engine doesn't even attempt to start. The motor will not turno over. I have a manual starter switch and the engine will crank over but won't start with the manual switch. There is a security light on and I have heard that the ecm is not allowing the engine to start with the key. The guy said that there was a clearing process for this but I am not sure of the procdure for clearing the light so the car will start. Does anyone know how to clear the security light so the car will start?

Re: security light question

im assumung you had the battery disconnected to do the head gasket?.....If you disconnect the battery for 10 minutes the ecm should reset. this should clear the light.
