Wheel bearing hub

I just changed the Drivers side Wheel bearing on my 02 montana.

Just a note you'll need a 34mm deep socket to remove the axle nut.
I just beat the hub out instead of using a puller.
It took me about 1.5 hrs to do.

The van was making a whinning sound drivers side, only going straight and to the the right. the sound was not there turning left.

259.99 cdn for the prem part at parts source.

Re: Wheel bearing hub

I guess I need you to draw a picture. I am just about positive that i missed your point. Was your point that you changed your hub? BTW if you paid 299, that counter man is very very happy.

I changed mine on my 2000. Pulled the bearing apart while pulling it out. What a PITA that was. Got mine on E-bay for $85 ish USD shipped

It's amazing what the proper tools to do a job can reduce your time. An impact wrench and a hub puller would have cut that down to a 1/3 of what you spent. Even if you didn't have the impact wrench, the puller isn't that expensive and many autopart stores (at least in the US) have a rental program where you can borrow the tool for free.
