Can someone that knows alot about bass help
O.K. here it is I dont have a car yet but i will be getting one very soon and im almost positive im getting a 2002 Avalanch. Im planning on getting a box that replaces the mid gate in the avalanch. Here is what it looks like and it shows where it will be placed it is also an enclosed box http://caraudiofactory.com/20012007-...oly-p-248.html and im going to put 3 12" Diamond Audio CM3's in it. I've been reading up on the CM3's and what ive read so far is pretty good but i wanted someones opinion on it that know what they are talking about. I havent officialy decided what AMP I want because I dont know what the best amp would be to get the job done. I was told I need a AMP that has 1000-1500 RMS at one OHM. The subs have a peak power of 1000 and RMS of 500. I would prefer a Reliable 1500 RMS AMP(and by reliable I mean I want a AMP that wont shut off every minute and wont toast the subs)
So my question is what is the best AMP for the job?? THANKS |

Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota. Cardomain |

Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help
those subs are dual 2 ohm subs
your load is going to be either 12 ohms or 1.333 ohms if you're only using one amp if that's the case (one amp for all 3 subs), this is the one out of all the Hifonics that's the closest match: BXi 1606D http://shopper.cnet.com/car-amplifie...-31961789.html it's also here, but they didn't have a price on this page http://www.maxxsonics.com/hifonics/amps_brutus.html

Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help
WOW! I've been looking for an AMP that would work for probably 2 and a 1\2 weeks and found nothing, ya'll are great:]. O.K. so if this AMP realy will work and get the job done is it going to use up my battery like crazy? and if so what can i do about that?. And I've read about guys having problems with there speakers shuting off every 3 minutes because its either working the AMP or the speakers too hard am i going to have a problem with this or is the power spread out through the speakers pretty evenly and around the RMS level?(sorry bout asking tons of questions at a time but im pumped :] cuz ive wanted this for so long and soo bad and im finaly making progress)but all i want is a AMP that will power the speakers, make them blast me apart but not tear the speakers apart, and not toast the AMP. I know its not that easy but i think that the brutus AMP you showed me will work but I need to know for-sure. Well thanks for everything(expecialy to NAVY IC) because ya'll are preventing me from making a mistake that I will regret(as in getting expensive crud that dosent work). THANKS!:]

Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help
(Forgot to add this) umm probably in the 300 dollar range. I can be flexable with that budget because the first setup i wanted was a lot more so total (box+speakers+AMP=around 1000.

Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help
with the dual 2ohm version of the CM3's that amp is what you want, you're not going to have any problems with the - [BXi 1606D]...
but, if you buy the dual 4ohm version of the CM3's, then you would probably want to go with the next amplifier model up which is the - [BXi 2006D]... it cost a lil more, but not much, (about $60), check it out... http://shopper.cnet.com/car-amplifie...-31962093.html

Oh O.K. soo am I still going to wire them parallel? and whats ur oppinion about the setup im doing (three 12" CM3's) i havent realy been around very many audio setups so i dont realy know what kinda power im looking at so what im asking is - is this going to be a wind shield cracking, make my ears bleed, and get the cops called on me cuz its so loud. or am i overating it? or will i be a proud owner of a beast? >:]

Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help
you're actually going to have a series-parallel configuration...
what you have to do is individually wire the coils on each of your subs in series, and then connect each of the subs together in parallel, these diagrams should help... dual 2ohm options http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftec...3&woofer_imp=3 dual 4ohm options http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftec...3&woofer_imp=4
