Brake rotor question
I was looking on ebay for new brake rotors for my 98 Gst and I found this company who takes Brembo blank rotors and drills and slots them is this a good idea to buy theese? Here is the link below. Also would it even make a difference if im still going to use stock pads and calipers?

Re: Brake rotor question
Those look like just standard rotors that have been drilled and slotted. It's going to make a difference if you were... flying at 200mph and decided to stop quickly and for rally/autox. I've got a set like those on my car. They look good... And I'm using stock calipers and decent pads.

Re: Brake rotor question
I've always read to stay away from drilled and slotted rotors as they tend to crack. But thats probably under race conditions. I say save up a little extra money and buy drilled rotors or slotted rotors from brembo themselves. I got the brembo slotteds.

Re: Brake rotor question
Just get stock replacements. I wouldnt waste money on something that has the potential to crack and break. Brakes are something I wouldnt want to fuck around with.

Re: Brake rotor question
I went with the Brembo dimpled / slotted with a set of ceramic pads. I haven't had any problems and they have been on for about 2 years. No cracking at all.

Re: Brake rotor question
I have friends that have had some bad cracks on drilled rotors, but that's with road racing. On the street, you are probably fine, but I would inspect the rotors closely, with each oil change perhaps.
