Smile 00 venture traction control abs light always on

00 venture over 150,000 miles has problem with traction control and abs, dash warning lights always on, service traction light on, too. went to dealer spent over 100 dollars to check by computer and it had no record that the lights were on, was quoted $2000 to fix, traction control/ abs comes on while driving, some times it will make braking difficult while driving that can not stop any ideas?

Re: 00 venture traction control abs light always on

My '97 TCS dash light was always on with the ABS dash light due to a short in the rear brake light supposed all-weather plug where the wiring harness plugs into the the tailights. Of course the fuses for the brakes were fine, but the all-weather plug points up along the drain path of the rear tailgate and lets the water just sit on in. Make sure all your brake lights work.

My 2001 also had wiring harness problems and the symptoms were identical. Cost me a lot more then $200 to get fixed.
