Question B18d?

Does anyone know anything about the B18d? I have a shop that can get me one for (relatively)cheap, but I dont want to go in blind. All i know for sure is that it has to be better than my stock motor (1.5LSOHC) What car(s) was it OE in?HP?Finally, how hard will the swap be into a'95civic CX? Help please, I cant ride on 70HP.

ummm wow they can get you a b18d, they must be rare cuz i never heard of then. It can either be a b18b (140hp non-vtec) or a b18c (170hp vtec). Both are great engines. You said you can get the engine cheap. How do you know if it's cheap if you don't even know what kind of power does the engine give out. Give us a little more detail about the engine and we might be able to help a little more.

you got me on the cheapness question, but take it easy, I'm new to this.I didn't even call the guy for a motor, but I guess he saw me coming. And, I never heard of it either, hence the post. Do you have any suggestions on what would be the most cost effective way for me to get into the 160HP range? Like most I'm on a limited budget. Hpefully I can find a cheap motor that exists.

I don't think a first gen b16a will fit in his 95. The first gen's had cable clutches, he has a hydro. It "would" fit, and can be done, but would probably be cheaper to buy a later b16 and not have to deal with the complications.
