Torque Converter Question

I have an 01 Jimmy and I need to know the number of splines (27 or 30) to buy a new converter.

Thanks

Welcome to AF
What transmission and engine does it have?
I do not think you can buy a new converter only rebuilt.
But I do not understand why you would have to count the splines.
Where or what brand of converter are you going to get?
As far as I know they have been only one size for years.
Way back in the 80's they changed over to one size.

Re: Torque Converter Question

Yes, and a standard TH700R4 converter will also NOT work on it - it has to be for the PWM 4L60E. These are all one size.

Re: Torque Converter Question

I have the 4.3l V6 with the 4L60E so I got a B&M converter on the website it says it fits the 4L60E from 1997-2003 http://store.summitracing.com/partde...view=32&N=700+ , and when i got it yesterday on the box it says "It will not fit '97 & later 4L60E!!" and it is the same part number. So i called up summit last night and they said it should go right on as long as it has 30 splines. I don't wanna drop my tranny without having the right parts.
