95 Contour Electrical Issues

2 Issues

1 - Cannot Get The License Plate Bulbs To Light. Have Used Test Light All The Back To Fuse Box And Am Not Getting Any Reading. The Fuse Is Fine And Putting Out Power. Dont Know If There Is A Floating Ground Or Anything Im Unaware Of. Had Them Working Briefly But Dont Know If I Shorted Something Out

2 - And Probably Related Is That The Reverse Lights Which Are On The Same Wire Path Wont Work Either. Dont Know If This Is Just The Switch

Re: 95 Contour Electrical Issues

check and see if the rear left and right park lights work, if they don't then the ground is open (G401) or the splice (S401) is open, this is the splice before the ground, G401 is located at the LH rear of luggage compartment, under plastic panel and S401 is at rear license lamp harness, near Take Out (T/O) to (C409) which is LH side of decklid
I hope this helps you out with this malfunction
