Code 1610

My car had the ECU replaced and now when mechanic tries to start it it wont ....it gives code p1610 (immobilizer) and when trying to reprogram it with the scanner it gives the Ok but then when he tries to start again it wont and when checked I gives out the code 1610 again... what is he doing wrong???

Why are you swaping ECU?? What ECU to what ECU?
Need more info to help you.

He most likely has a 2000 and the ECU cant be reprogram. Swaped it with a 02+ ECU...my guess anyway.

If anything mabye he needs to buy the imobilizer from the car he got the ECU out of.
I think there working on an imobilizer delete.
