2000 ford taurus transmission no forward
I have a 2000 ford taurus with a 3.0 engine and a auto trans axs4. Problem is no forward gears. Reverse is fine, I am assuming trans needs removed and rebuilt. But does this trans have to come out from the top as one unit with engine as there does not appear to be enough room to remove from underneath.Your help is appreciated.
Thanks |

Re: 2000 ford taurus transmission no forward
Did the transmission suddenly quit working while you were driving down the road? Or did you just go out to it and it didn't go into a forward gear. There's a small chance it might be the Transmission Range Sensor - it might not be registering that the selector is in OD D or 1

Oh ... that might have broke something then. But the parking prawl is supposed to break off when that happens from what I hear.
