What is sequential turbocharging?

Someone was talking about sequential turbocharging the other day. I had no clue what he was talking about. Is it when you have two turbos. One big one, and one small one, the smaller one spools up first, then when the big one gets spooled up, the small one shuts off? Am I even close to what it really is? Please help me. Thanx. :flash:

Yeap, that's it exactly...Usually done in TT applications on straight motors...Example the TT I6 Skyline...
