Wiper blade shudder

Had bought some triple edge wiper blades for all of my cars. They work great, almost to good. They shudder when they wipe. Any ideas how I can get them to wipe smooth with no shudder? Something I could wipe on them? Thanks for the input.

Re: Wiper blade shudder

Try putting some RAIN X on your windsheild. That should help. Other than that, maybe try different wipers.

I don't think "Auotomotive Trivia is the proper forum for this question, so I'm going to move it to "Car Detailing" hoping someone there can help you more.

Re: Wiper blade shudder

Step 1 : Try clay-barring the windshield

Step 2 : Apply white vinegar to the windshield using crumpled up newspaper

It's cheap but effective

PS. Use the vinegar to clean the blades. Be careful with alot of these "rubber" cleaners as they can strengthen the rubber which in turn will "tighten" the blades.

Use a fresh detailer's clay such as Mothers Clay Bar kit -- it's generally used for paint, but you can use it for glass or any smooth surface. You glide it over the glass, using the included lubricant, and it can grab surface contaminants. Works great on shower doors. Just about any brand will do.

You can also use Mothers Chrome Polish as it's a non-gritty formula and it's great on windshields and other exterior glass.
