Is it true the GTO MR was the fastest JAP. production car ever made?

Being 3000gt finatics and all I figured you guys would have the best knowledge on the topic, did the GTO MR really run 12.5 stock in Japan with the 15G tubo setup, even faster than the skyline, making it the fastest japanese production car ever built? I know the GTO TT is like the VR4 here, and the regular GTO was like the SL except AWD, but what about the GTO MR, which was considered to be priced around 50,000 american dollars in japan.

I would have to say there is no freaking way.. I dont know the facts so i can't say what beats what.. but in know it is not the fastest.. I bet its not even in the top 5

Well than could you name 5 cars that can beat a 12.5 time for Japanese production right out of the factory, if you claim theres so many other Jap proudction cars that are quicker name them?

Yes the MR ran the fastest time but at 12.8 if I recall correctly. No 15g's were not an option. ALL GTO's came with 9b's. The only optional turbo ever available from the factory was teh 13g and that was only available on Euro Spec 3000gt's.

It is. It had to be to be allowed to compete. They only made a handful though.

AFAIK
13G's were a dealer option in Europe, which means the dealer installed them on the cars brand new. The cars left the factory with 9B's

Its odd to think that nothing has come from japan thats quicker than a 12.8 in the last 9 years.

if the r390 was a P class car, then the cars that nissan produced arent in the same production class as the mr, granted not many of those were made either.
the 390 would have been in race production class, whereas the mr would b limited like the enzo(a certain amount was ment to b made from the onset) then there are full production like the gto and corvette

The MR may be the fastest, but remember that BPU Supras can pull low 12's. Wish 3S's could do that.

Yeah, so? What are you? Some kind of traitor or something?

I just found that out a couple weeks ago, that's only b/c they come from the factory with bigger injectors/pump and turbos. BPU we can run mid 12's so we're close.
