wiper sprayer

My pump doesnt work for the wipers that sprays the windsheild, i took apart the pump and after inspection, it doesnt look like a pump, rather its a motor that spins a little fan type thing and i geuss thats what pulls the water out of the fluid tank and sprays the fluid outward too. the motor that spins the little fan thing DOES work still, but the little fan thing and the round part that the hoses connect to may just be no good. thats as best as i can describe what it looks like, but im sure someone knows what im talking about and what it looks like. whats that little part called and where should i look for one, i dont know if an auto parts store would have something like that. its just the little round part that the hoses plug into and the metal prongs on the motor bend over it to hold it into place. (not the wiper motor, theres two different motors here) ps. i know the lines arent clogged either, i cleaned them out a few weeks ago. to better understand what im talking about, i drew a pic of what it looks like:

Re: wiper sprayer

I'm sorry to tell you that the motor comes as one whole piece with the pump already attached. As far as I know you can't but a replacement pump to go on the motor. I've tried in the past and had no luck at any of my local auto parts stores.

Re: wiper sprayer

damn, i was debating to look at one of those self serve salvage yards but i wasnt sure if i'd be getting someone else's broken one too. come to think of it, i have seen replacement ones but they are all square shaped, mine is round obviously.

Re: wiper sprayer

did u pull the hose off the pump and see if it comes directly out the pump. If it does, start hooking up one hose at a time to the pump until the fluid stops coming out and that'll be ur problem

Re: wiper sprayer

The square ones you see are the original type that use a cam and mechanical power from the wiper motor to move a piston back and fourth that pumps the washer fluid. I got the electric motor retrofit, probably like what you have in your car. Bring the motor to an auto parts store and have them get you a new one. The motors/pumps are generally universally used on many different makes and models.

Re: wiper sprayer

It should if it's the original motor.

Re: wiper sprayer
