Flashing lights
I recently had a problem with an aftermarket alarm that was diconnected since it was drawing down the battery. Now the battery is ok, alarm is off but every time I start the van the lights on the center dash for the rear window washer, defroster, wiper, AC keep flashing. No others do. Any idea what may be causing the problem. Someone said it was due to the battery being dead and replaced and a module lost its memory. Any ideas on how to fix that or if that is the real probelm
Thanks |

Re: Flashing lights
Welcome aboard. You can try this. It may or may not work on your van depending on the model year.
Turn on the blower. Simultaneously push the top and bottom wiper buttons on the left side of the ventilation control panel for 5 seconds. All the lights on the panel will light up. Then two lights on the left side will alternately flash for about two minutes and you'll hear the ventilation modes cycle. When just the top light on the left side slowly flashes push that button and you're done. All lights should be out and you should be back to normal. Restart the van a few times and make sure. This is the ventilation control calibration test and it resets the ventilation system computer. If your A/C system is not working, it won't pass the test. The lights will flash until you fix the A/C according to what I've read.

Re: Flashing lights
Thanks for the advise RIP, I have a partial solution. My dashboard button layout is
Rear Wiper Intermit wiper Rear Wash Rear defrost internal air recirculate A/C I did as you suggested and now the only lights flashing are the internal air recirulate and the A/C buttons. The AC is blowing cold air so I am assuming it is working properly Any suggestions on the next step. Thanks |

Re: Flashing lights
I read somewhere if you have those lights try heating up the inside of the van. I'll try to find the article. Your van is failing the A/C cooldown portion of the test.
Found it. Read the note halfway down: http://www.visteonclimatecontrolprod...41695_tsbs.htm Might be something useful here: http://www.allpar.com/fix/codes-climate.html

Do not waste your time and money. You can initiate COOLDOWN TEST Yourself (if Your A/C and RECIRC LED's flash in the same time). 1)Do not use your A/C for some time - system must not be already cold, 2)Start Your VAN 3)Set Blower motor ON HIGH 4) Set Mode Position to Panel 5)Open all A/C outlets 6)Set temperature to cold (both slide ports if equipped) 7)Depress WASH and A/C simultaneously for 5 Seconds Then COLLDOWN test will run. Afterward no LED is flashing. If other lights is flashing You must run Calibration test (all the same except 7) depress WASH and REAR Wiper buttons simultaneously. After test REAR WIPER LED is the only LED flashing. Push Rear Wiper led to exit). |
