replace rear 6x9
Hi, can you replace the 2 6x9 sub speakers in the rear of the car and just replace them with regular 6x9 speakers? Or are they wired just for sub speakers.

Re: replace rear 6x9
thats a good question. . also How do i know my 1997 has the JBL system in it? As far as I can tell, I only have 4 speakers. .. 2 front door speakers and 2 rear door speakers. I dont hear any sound out of the rear deck at all.

Re: replace rear 6x9
I know I have a jbl system because it say JBL on it. As for the rear speakers they are wired for sub. How do I know I took the wires off and wired it to a regular speaker and all I got was bass. The JBL System is very nice, I just have a very nice pair of Infinity 6" x 9" 2-Way Speaker (692.7i) I wanted to put in the rear.
I would guess if the system does not say JBL on it maybe you don't have the premium sound system installed. |

Re: replace rear 6x9
Your guys should have two amps in the trunk, Sub amp, and Speaker Amp.
Can't imagine why you'd want to kill the sub's A small full spectrum Amp could bypass the Sub Amp to new rear-deck speakers if you really want that. You'll need the wiring charts from your service manual to find the new amp feeds.
