1999 5.7L A/C compressor Not Turning on

Hey,
I have replaced the fuse and the a/c relay and the compressor still isnt turning on when i hit the switch. I tested the wires at the compressor, and they have no power. I am lost!

Was the relay bad?

Re: 1999 5.7L A/C compressor Not Turning on

I have exactly the same problem on my 1999 GMC Suburban 5.7.
I swapped the relay and inspected the fuses also.

When you find out what it is, please let me know.

Jim

Try tapping on the front of the compressor with it running. Your clutch is probably stuck. I found it out of frustration on a 95 1500 pickup I was working on. Be careful and not get into fan.
