Hi I'm newto this forum stuff but i was interested in finding help to fix my 1973 satellite's problems. It was a graduation gift from my mom and stepdad. they drove it from Phoenix to El Paso. the gas gauge is broken so i need a new one and the car has a rich fuel mixture, the trunk and rear bumber are oily becase of the exhaust. it has a edelbrock carb and i was wondering if anyone could help me fix my problem. I am wasting too much gas.

Re: 73' satellite problems
You need to rebuild the carburetor.
If this Edelbrock Carb uses metering rods like the old Carter AFB's, you should consider resizing the metering rods and jets for better fuel economy. If this carb uses a vacuum actuated power valve for fuel enrichment, like the old Holley carbs, you probably need a new power valve, as this one is stuck open. I hope this helps and let us know what you find.
