CYLINDER MISFIRE (plugs and wires replaced)

The scanner indicates "#6 CYLINDER MISFIRE".

I replaced the sparkplug and sparkplug wires on that cylinder and checked the contacts in the distributor cap. Yet, I continue to get the same message.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or theories. Clogged injector?

Thanks!

Re: CYLINDER MISFIRE (plugs and wires replaced)

Either pull the #6 plug and check for spark or connect a timing light to the #6 plug wire and verify the light flashes. This will confirm the entire circuit from the ECM to the plug or for the later, the plug wire, is good. That done, forget electrics and look at the injector. Go to the Camry Service Manuals thread at the top of the forum and find the manual for your model year. It will tell you how to test the injector. If the injector is good and it's getting power, check compression on #6.
