Problem w/ Drivers' Door Power lock and keyless entry! HELP!!!

I have a 1997 GMC Jimmy and the PDL on the Drivers' door does not lock/ unlock the driver door. What could be the problem? Is there a way that I could see that if it may be the actuator or perhaps a faulty connection inthe harness. Also, if it's not too much to ask, would you know the method for programming a key fob on my 97 Jimmy?

Thank you so much in advance for advice or insites that I may find helpful to my situations. Thanks Again, Tali-man05

97 did not come with an alarm - 99up did so yours is aftermarket and all diff so go online and look the type up.

Most of the door panels get crap on the conrtacts so keep pushing up/down and see if that knocks the contacts clean and they work. If not that arm piece just pushes to rear and unclips and pulls out so you can test with a meter.
