Wink Re: 99 Expedition Problem

is there a check engine light on? have the code read, could be either a vacuum leak, or a bad coil

If there is no check engine light, then hook a fuel pressure guage to the fuel rail and see what it reads when acting up.

Re: 99 Expedition Problem

Here are some possibilities: ignition system not operating properly, Dirty or clogged fuel injectors, fuel pump, or filter, engine control system malfunction, incorrect ignition timing, faulty or incorrectly gapped spark plugs, dirty air filter, faulty ignition coils, incorrect transmission fluid level, EGR system not functioning, low or uneven cyclinder compression pressure, or vacuum leak at intake manifold or hoses. I'm not going to go through how to check each one, but I will tell you that your local parts store should have a repair manual for your vehicle. I like Haynes: Ford Pick-ups & Expedition 1997 thru 2003. It has great troubleshooting pages and very informative. Hope this helps.
