Weird encounter with a Celica GT-S

Well I was driving on Foothill Blvd., and saw a Celica GT-S with TRD stickers on it. I was actually considering getting one of these cars over my current ride, but opted against it, as they are more expensive. I just driving casually, and he is pacing me. The guy gets on it, and obviously has an exhaust. In all honesty I thought these cars were much faster, as it didn't seem to move all that fast. This guy's got a shit eating grin on his face. I pace him, drop a gear, and get on it. He just stays at the same speed I then wonder if there is a cop behind us. NOPE. I see that he is in the car with his girlfriend. She is videotaping me I then tell him we should try to run from a dig, and he points ahead. I put the car in first, and just get on the throttle. He doesn't bite again, and I basically just end up wasting gas. He gives me the thumbs up, and then just turns off the road.

I'm assuming that there will be some jackass video of him getting on it, when i'm not on it, and him declaring a win. WTF gives with people these days. This was all sorts of lame.

You shoulda told the girlfriend you had a cammera stand back home and would show her how to, uh, properly use the cammera to film some good action.

Re: Weird encounter with a Celica GT-S

Must have been the same Celica that raced(?) me on the long uphill stretch of the 2 fwy between the Eagle Rock Plaza and the 210. I was driving along at about 65-70mph and I was slowly coming up on a Celica GT-S with a huge fart cannon. As soon as our bumpers lined up he drops a gear and floors it! I hear his engine revving like crazy but he hasn't gained an inch or sped up at all. We rolled side by side all the way up to Foothill (about 3 miles), him revving like crazy, he must have been in 3rd gear he was revving so high - and me at about 1/4 throttle in 5th gear just cruising @ 70mph. It was the strangest thing...his engine SCREAMED but he never moved.

I came to the conclusion that it was a regular GT with a fart cannon and a fake GT-S sticker.

Re: Weird encounter with a Celica GT-S

best way to tell if its a real GTS is by seeing if he have 4 wheel disc brakes or not.

but this is soo weird to see you lose or tie to all these slow cars. you need boost!! or the bare minimum a 2ZZ GE swap

Newsflash, I didn't lose to him. Sheesh, read the story atleast. I have a cold air intake that's going in next week

The car will most likely get some form of boost in the next few years
