Excessive oil pressure?

I know alot of oil pressure is good but damn. I just hooked up my autometer oil pressure gauge. My car is sitting at about 25 psi at idle and my 100psi gauge maxes out when I get on it. I don't know what the oil pressure on these cars are supposed to be but this seems extremly high to me compared to other cars. The only thing I can think of that may have increased my oil pressure is the balance shaft elimination. I dont know. What do your cars run at? Thanks for the help in advance.

Re: Excessive oil pressure?

My car will hit 100psi when its cold. But after driving for like 15 minutes it will max around 60psi

Re: Excessive oil pressure?

Dont waste your time with those honda motors. Go ahead and put a 4g63 in there in you want you car to be fast.

Re: Excessive oil pressure?

Maxing the gauge out when cold is normal, especially with thick oil. With 50 weight it's not uncommon to peg the gauge at hgh rpm too. People running high rpm race motors have to port the oil pressure relief valve (like upgrading to an AFPR) to get pressure down at redline.
