Re: b18 swap
well i guess to start......the ecu in the car is the stock ecu for a d16y7. i have all the harness and wiring i need for the other motor. but i dont know were to start. the cars runs but it doest idle right and sometimes dies.

Re: b18 swap
well running a SOHC ecu on a DOHC motor will do it... get the right ecu.

Re: b18 swap
wait. i run a p28 on my b16 and it runs just fine. so i don't think you can say that.

Re: b18 swap
is it chipped? because you can chip a p28 to run a b series no problem... plus a p28 is a vtec ecu running a motor that is also vtec and with the same displacement whereas hes running a non vtec ecu with a vtec motor thats also bigger... the ignition and fuel tables would be WAYY off compared to you

Re: b18 swap
i have one chipped and one i use for daily driving. i kinda knew what you were saying but just needed a lil clarity. i just thought it was weird for you to say that you can't run a sohc ecu on a dohc. or visa versa. but yes the displacement would be a factor and the ignition and fuel.
yep definitly get the right ecu or one verysimilar, preferably the correct one.

Re: b18 swap
sound good. the only problem is that the motor i have is a non-vtec. i have the harness for both the motor and the ecu. were do i go from there?

Re: b18 swap
well put the harness on and then find the ecu that goes with your engine. it will be easy.
