Question TBI interchange

Are 305 & 350 TBI's interchangeable? Are car & truck TBI's the same? Is there a way to tell which is which?

1968 Pontiac,
I have the factory manuals for 1990 Trucks. The 305 and 350 share the same TBI except for the injectors.

Not sure if they are different on the cars or not.

This may be helpful http://chevythunder.com/gm_throttle_...ction_pg_1.htm

Re: TBI interchange

Is there a way to differentiate between 305 & 350 injectors? They all seem to look the same.

There should be a casting number on the injector. This website shows the casting number for the 350 injectors but not the 305 injectors. See http://www.injectors4u.com/tbi_injectors.htm

Re: TBI interchange

Thanks for the link Yuk. I pulled my injectors only to find that there is no number on them. Pulled some at the wrecker; no numbers either. The reason I'm wondering is the previous owner changed the engine years ago, but can't remember if he got a 305 or 350, and the receipt doesn't say. The engine doesn't seem to be a dog like a 305, but the TBI unit is part# 17091041, which is correct for a 305. Of course someone could have changed to 350 injectors when they changed the engine if they dropped in a 350. I'm just trying to fugure out what I have.

Re: TBI interchange

Later after I posted, I found my old injectors and I also could not find the casting numbers. It is possible that you need to take it apart to see it. Sorry about that, I thought it would help you but I guess I was wrong.
