transmission problem bmw serie 7

Hi friends, i have a problem with a bmw 1996 7 serie transmission.When i strart driving the car all gears shift fine,but when i come to a stop it won't downshift to first gear,i have to put the car in park and then in drive again and it run ok untill i come to a stop again.any help will be app.

No,i'm still sitting with the same problems,although for two days it's shifting up and down very good.

I have no problem with the performance of ny trans. but I hear a whinning noise and can not figure out where it is coming from. help me!

>specialist< jus from wat u mentioned it sounds like a tranny fluid pressure problem. could be a stuck check ball in the valve body. will it shift through the gears in manual
