Transmission Question

I have several 65 Buick Skylark Convertibles.

I had the engine rebuilt on one, but now the transmission is acting up.

I was talking with a Buick Head some time ago and he explained there is a newer 3 spead transmission that will bolt right in. He gave me the numbers, but I'll be darned if I can remember them. Any suggestions?

One of the Buicks has the drive train from a Vista Crusier Wagon. I like the way it preforms. I am thinking of changing out the rear end of the other. Any thoughts?
