Sebring won't start. Not the battery. Where's the Starter!?
Just ran into a problem. I've got a feeling it's the starter, but I'm just not sure. The car cranked and had some trouble before it died fully, but it started. Then the next day it kind of started to crank then stopped and clicked once, (not over and over like it would be the battery.) Just to be sure, I replaced the battery, but it still did the exact same thing. I really don't want to get a new starter without being sure. Anybody can help?
Second question, where IS the starter?

Re: Sebring won't start. Not the battery. Where's the Starter!?
I have an '02 with a 2.7L and just encountered that same problem. Check your start/fuel fuse in the fuse panel under the hood. I'm pretty sure it's blown. Put another one in, try to start, it will blow again within ten starts. Long story short, it appears to be crappy starters with this engine and it's a fairly common problem. I guess instead of just letting the starter go out so we can identify the problem Chrysler decided to set up fuses to blow first so we had to take it to a dealership to be identified.
I hate this f*ing car... |

There has always been a " fuse " of some sort for the starter. Chryco did you a favor by putting it up close so you could get to it. They used to be down in the starter harness just above the stater.Up under the hood looks pretty good right now.Depending on the miles ( or in my case kms) the contacts IN the starter might be bad. Commen Mitsu starter issue. On the very outside I have seen a batt go bad very slowly. It does happen. More like the starter.

I have a 2000 Convertible also. My battery went dead from lack of use so I took it in for a recharge and fuel filter replaced. It was working fine. I also wanted to smog it but the test center could not since I had to drive the vehicle for at least 50 - 100 miles to reset sensors
. So I did this over a weeks times. The car sat for a few days, my room mate went to start it for me and it would not turn over, kinda like no fuel. The tank is full, I can jump charge it, it cranks but just won't turn over and run. I've check fuses and now I am stumped.Quote:
