The last report here was they had arrested 2 suspects only. Unless someone can point me to the report where they have had a trial and have been found guilty, DO NOT ASSUME ANYTHING!!! Jesus, there is no way these guys are going to get a fair trial if they are already labelled like this by ignorant members of the public.

To get a arrest warrant, you need to prove its them beyond a reasonable doubt.

So, if they have enough evidence to arrest them, and name them as the DC sniper, then its pretty safe to say, yes, the sniper has been caught.

Does it mean he has been convicted? No, he has just been caught.

No, it takes probable cause, not proof beyond reasonable doubt... That is what a trial is for, to prove them guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Anyways, they weren't arrested on the sniper charges. One was arrested on a previous weapons charge, and the other was arrested on some other BS charge. That is so they can keep them in jail while the build the case against them (like doing ballistics tests on the rifle, etc.).

But as soon as those ballistic tests come back as a match (which I'm sure they will), it'll be a guilty verdict as far as I'm concerned. After that, it's a matter of them trying to plea-bargain down to a lesser charge.

Exactly. Thank you. THey have arrested SUSPECTS on charges other than MURDER for further QUESTIONING. Regardless of likely outcomes, that is all.

Well, if "two SUSPECTS in custody" = no more sniper victims... I'm okay with that.

That is totally WRONG! They should (and will be) considered innocent in a court of law. We can make all the assumptions we want. Our opinions do not sway the guilt or innocence in the courtroom (if it did, OJ would be dancing with the devil)

A fair trial means having thoughtful people on the Jury not having people hold their opinions until a court event occurs.

The more assumptions and aspersions the public cast, the more frenzied and hysterical the community, influenced by the media will become. You cannot assume anything at this stage. There are SUSPECTS. Nothing more.

Well let's see here. They arrested them, and they found the gun used in the shootings. They took the gun to the lab and matched it to the bullets, it's a match. Even if they aren't the shooters, they have a murder weapon in their possesion that was used in 10 murders. Either way, they're going to be in prison for a LONG time.

That makes no sense. Are you suggesting that the police should consider them not guilty? So in other words they should only arrest the innocent? Hell, they could have saved themselves a lot of time and just arrested the first person they saw. Clearly they arrest the people who the believe to be guilty. We can assume the same thing. Its the courts that cannot behave that way. The jury pool may be thinned some, but the fact is, its up the lawyers and judge to ensure a fair jury.

I'm hoping that after the guilty verdict they are skinned alive.
